James Madison University is nestled in the picturesque Shenandoah Valley in Harrisonburg, VA. It's home to almost 20,000 graduate and undergraduate students. The university was ranked 2nd in top public universities of the south by The U.S. News & World Report 2013 edition, “Best Colleges” guidebook. Additionally, Bloomsberg Business Week ranked JMU's College of Business in the top 5% in the nation.
As a high school senior I chose JMU because of its quality education, diverse population, and study abroad program. I received my undergraduate degrees in International Business and Spanish in 2005. In 2013 I returned to JMU for my Masters in Nutrition and Physical Activity. As an adult, I returned to the university for similar reasons, this time with a better understanding and appreciation for the valuable experiences and education the university has to offer. In addition to the graduate course load needed to complete my degree, I also took the classes required by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
